Sunday Times: David Duchovny: Mulder and Scully bury the hatchet and start unearthing secrets again - Feb 2016

Relations used to be cold, but the actor says he now has fun with his co-star Gillian Anderson. Though he has to admit he forgot about their baby

THERE are only two reasons to go to Hollywood Boulevard: to see the stars or to buy drugs. David Duchovny fans can now do both at once. His star on the Walk of Fame (the 2,572nd), which I watched being unveiled two weeks ago, sits in the midst of the dope dealers and a few feet from the Smoke House, a shop specialising in hookah pipes, vaping kit and anything you might need to satiate the munchies.

I realise how fitting this is when I meet Duchovny in a Los Angeles hotel a little later on. I find a man so monosyllabic and monotone that he appears either to have been smoking heavily or to be on the brink of falling asleep. In fact he is just tired.

New York Times: ‘The X-Files’: David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Return to the Paranormal Beat - 2016

UPDATED with more pictures below

NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia — There they were in the midst of what looked like a spooky old-growth forest (Princess Park, actually, mere blocks from upscale suburban homes here), surrounded by clumps of moss, overgrown ferns and gigantic Douglas firs, looking for clues of yet another allegedly paranormal crime, the kind they used to solve almost every week. They addressed each other, as they always had, by only their last names.

“Mulder,” said Gillian Anderson, reprising her role as the F.B.I. agent Dana Scully, the look on her face instantly recognizable; part reprimand, part in-spite-of-herself affection.

“Scully,” David Duchovny responded in character, somehow managing to mock her just by saying her name.

The Guardian: David Duchovny: ‘I can't play Mulder the way I did. That would be obscene’ Feb 5, 2016

As The X-Files returns, David Duchovny talks about feeling vulnerable, those Gillian Anderson rumours – and why he and his co-star should be paid the same

A small crowd has gathered in front of the Fox theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. Carrying rolled-up copies of Variety magazine and holding up mobile phone cameras, they press their flesh as close to the metal barricade as possible. They are here to see David Duchovny, most famous for the newly resurrected science-fiction drama The X-Files, whose star is being unveiled on the Walk of Fame today. Duchovny’s closest confidantes are here, too – X-Files creator Chris Carter, Californication co-star Pamela Adlon, his manager Melanie Green, his brother – but they’re outnumbered by the strangers, the autograph seekers, and the tourists who will stop anywhere they see a fence and some security guards in LA.

X-Files ratings remain huge for second episode

Those big X-Files premiere ratings were no fluke (man).

Monday’s second episode delivered startlingly large numbers too: 9.7 million viewers – and this is the really impressive part – a 3.2 rating among adults 18-49. That’s from airing 8 p.m. last night, so there was no lead-in (unlike Sunday’s debut which had a run-up with the big NFC championship game). In fact, in its new regular time slot X-Files crushed CBS’ Supergirl (1.8 rating) and ABC’s The Bachelor (2.3 rating) and was the highest-rated broadcast program of the night.

X-Files also helped give a strong launch to Fox’s new supernatural drama Lucifier at 9 p.m. (7.1 million viewers, 2.4 rating). Lucifer ranked as the night’s second-highest rated show (despite getting pretty weak reviews).

Duchovny on early tension with Gillian Anderson: ‘We lost our minds a little bit’ Jan 20, 2016

Fourteen years is an eternity to wait to revive a popular series — and a risky proposition.

The 2014 resurrection of “24,” only a few years after it was cancelled, earned lackluster ratings — but David Duchovny remains optimistic that fans will be there when “The X-Files” reboot premieres Sunday night on Fox, 14 years after the original series ended.

(At one point, “The X-Files” had 20 million viewers.)

For years, "X-Files" fans have believed, and now the 6-episode reboot is about a week away. If you haven't been abducted by the hype train yet, get ready because David Duchovny is about to welcome you aboard.

The actor tells The Huffington Post the new episodes are "as big as any of the episodes" the show's ever done.

"The first one starts with a bang. I was amazed at how big it is, how big it looks. It looks like a summer movie, and it’s an hour of television," Duchovny says.

Watch Blastr: The X-Files cast reveal the truth about the new season

It's been eight years since writer Chris Carter last assembled actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to don their FBI suits and search for the truth as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in The X-Files film, I Want to Believe. But against all odds, Carter convinced the actors to return to their iconic roles for six episodes of a series which premieres on Fox on January 24 at 10 PM Eastern/7 PM Pacific.

The entire "The X-Files" creative team were in great spirits on Tuesday night in Los Angeles at the California Science Center, where they celebrated the U.S. debut of the premiere episode, "My Struggle." Blastr was on the red carpet and got to get these exclusive video interviews with Chris Carter and actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, talking about returning to the characters and mythology after such a long break.
