Yes, Lost fans, Jorge Garcia and Maggie Grace guest star on the next episode (06.05 - 'Rock and a Hard Place') alongside stars David Duchovny and Evan Handler. From the looks of things, Garcia's character is a little darker this time around (and quite fond of narcotics):

Interview: California Dreamy

David Duchovny on Californication’s season of sex, drugs—and rock ’n’ roll

“David Duchovny, why won’t you love me, why won’t you love me?!,” keened the lyrics of 1999’s cult-pop hit entitled—what else?—“David Duchovny.” The song expressed the global infatuation legions felt for the droll Princeton- and Yale-educated actor and his Golden Globe-winning run as The X-Files’ UFO-chasing FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder. Duchovny once feared he’d “never get out from under the shadow of that role,” but almost 20 years later, Mr. D is still wickedly dancing away. This month he returns for a sixth sex-soaked season as Hank Moody, Californication’s writer and incorrigible ne’er-do-well. “It’s a blast,” says Duchovny. We agree, say we.

Watch!: So, Hank Moody is an alcoholic stoner and a shameless womanizer—and I love him. Should I get help?
David Duchovny: (Laughing.) No. Hank is attractive because he tells the truth, he’s not hypocritical and it’s rare we get a character like that. He’s outspoken to the detriment of his own health and well-being; he’s truly himself and that’s admirable, in a way, but you know that he’s always going to say the wrong thing and it’s going to be funny. Or disastrous.

"She’s gonna be a frickin’ hot mess."

Alanna Ubach as The Widow, Steve Jones as Krull, Maggie Grace as Faith, Tim Minchin as Atticus Fetch and David Duchovny as Hank Moody in Californication

IGN TV: What can you say about your character on Californication, and what brings her into Hank’s world?
Alanna Ubach: I’m excited about it. She’s a widow who’s lost her rock star husband played by Sebastian Bach. She meets Hank at the actual funeral, and they start something together.

Sardonic Wisdom from Californication’s Madeleine Martin

Forget those Girls on HBO. One of TV’s most sarcastic and straight forward dispensers of young female wisdom is Becca Moody on Showtime’s long running dramedy Californication. Although seemingly above her father Hank Moody’s (played by David Duchovny) self-absorbed behavior, last season Becca proved she was totally influenced by it when she picked a boyfriend all too similar to Hank in talent and wandering eye.

[Spoilers] Catching Up With Alanna Ubach from Californication

Last week I got to call up Alanna Ubach for a chat.

There’s probably not one role in particular that Ubach is best remembered for, but there’s a lot on her resume that I’m sure you’ll know. She had a nifty little role in The Brady Bunch Movie, popped up in both Legally Blonde pictures, provided four voices for Rango and had a memorable run in Hung – and that’s just me skipping over her resume like a stone.
Here’s some of what Alanna told me. We started by talking about her going concerns.

A Haunted House killed at the box office and I’m proud of that, for godsakes. Then in Californication my character is the widow of a dead rock star played by Sebastian Bach and he comes back… I can’t exactly say what happens, but I meet David Duchovny’s character at a funeral and that’s when the trouble begins.

David Duchovny on Sex, Violence and Why He Won’t Read Reviews

TRANSCRIPT: Actor David Duchovny has won Golden Globe awards for both of his hit television shows– first as Agent Mulder on “The X-Files”, and now for his current role as Hank Moody on “Californication”. ”The X-Files” ran for nine years and became a cult phenomenon, and “Californication” is now it it’s sixth season as a hit on Showtime. David stopped by the SiriusXM studios to sit down with Ron Bennington and talk about the new season of “Californication”. Excerpts from the interview appear below. You can hear this interview here.

* * *
Ron Bennington: Six years into this character and he’s still doesn’t seem like he’s going to get a break.

David Duchovny: No. Well, that’s the nature of serialized television writing. You sign a contract with an audience in a way, for a character and for a tone of a show. And you just can’t break it all of a sudden and turn into a different show. So, that’s kind of the humor and the funny part of our show – is that this guy doesn’t get a break.

Ron Bennington: Natascha (McElhone) was in here the other day.
David Duchovny: Was she?

Ron Bennington: And I asked her. I go – why does she stay with Hank? And she’s like – it’s just a male fantasy.
David Duchovny: Yeah. (laughs) Well, Tom Kapinos, whose show it is – the writer and the creator of the show, for him – he’s always said it’s a wish fulfillment fantasy of a writer. Him being a writer. That a writer would be attractive to women, that a writer would kind of be treated like a rock star by women – so, he’s always said it’s a complete wish fulfillment of a writer.
