PARADE: David Duchovny on the End of Californication and Why a Third X Files Film 'Is Going to Happen'
David Duchovny returns for his final season of Californication on April 13. The actor has brought fast-living novelist Hank Moody to life for seven seasons, and saying farewell to his wild character isn’t going to be easy.
“It hasn’t sunk in yet,” Duchovny tells Parade. “We usually go back to work in late April, which hasn’t come around yet. Intellectually, I kind of get it and we’ve all said our goodbyes and made our peace, but I think they’ll be another round of nostalgia and sadness when April rolls around and I’m not being Hank.” Before Californication returns for its seventh and final season on Showtime, you can catch up on all the drama and debauchery with the release of the sixth season, now on DVD.
Duchovny, 53, talked to Parade about the final season of Californication, another turn on the big screen for The X Files, his big technology confession, and more.
We reported that Amazon.com had begun accepting pre-orders for Californication - Season 6 on DVD. Now the big e-tailer has updated their listing to show early cover art (see below HQ) and a release date March 26, 2013. Californication: Sixth Season

Hank (played by David Duchovny) comes back from his trip and discovers Becca (played by Madeleine Martin) needs his help. However, his plan for Becca backfires after they visit Atticus Fetch (played by Tim Minchin) and his houseguest - the infamous Marilyn Manson (who plays himself). But the drama does not stop there, apparently Hank has an encounter with Karen (played by Natascha Mcelhone) which becomes a very awkward position. In the meantime, Charlie (played by Evan Handler) decides to take Stuart (played by Camden Gray) out for the day which leads to an encounter of his own.

David Duchovny is an open book when you ask him a highly personal question: Why is it that the gossip always had him feuding with his TV co-star Gillian Anderson?
“You tell me why,” Duchovny says with a laugh during a phone interview from his New York home. “We’re great friends. In fact, last year the tabloids had us living together, so maybe we turned the corner.
“Some guy passed me on the streets the other day and actually said, ‘Is it true? Are you living with Gillian?’ I said, ‘If I am, she’s extremely quiet, because I haven’t noticed her just yet.’ ”
