Ratings: ‘The X-Files’ Rises in Finale

Tuesday, February 23

Fox’s reboot of “The X-Files” had a nice bounce back from its low opposite the Grammys last week, growing 14% for its finale and tying with ABC’s similarly rising “The Bachelor” as Monday’s top program among young adults.

According to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, the sixth and final episode of “The X-Files” averaged a 2.4 rating/8 share in adults 18-49 and 7.6 million viewers overall from 8 to 9 p.m., on par with “The Bachelor” for the hour and the night. “X-Files” was Monday’s top-rated program outright in adults 25-54 (3.0/8) and all key male demos.

More than 20 million viewers watched the premiere of “The X-Files” within the first three days of its premiere last month, and the show is tracking as broadcast television’s No. 2-rated drama of the season in adults 18-49, behind only Fox’s “Empire.” It’s unclear, though, if or when the show might return to the network.

David Duchovny, star of The X-Files and lead singer in his own band reveals the tunes that have soundtracked his life

The first song I remember hearing
The Friends of Distinction - 'Grazing In The Grass'

“I bought 45s when I was a kid because they were cheaper, at 99 cents, where an album cost three dollars and 69 cents, which was too much for my budget. The first single I bought was called ‘Grazing In The Grass’. It’s kind of an R&B/soul number. ‘Grazing in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it?’”

X-Files: Episode 10x06 'My Struggle II'

Saturday, February 13

Written by: Chris Carter
Directed by: Chris Carter
Guest Stars: William B. Davis as Cigarette Smoking Man, Annabeth Gish as Monica Reyes, Joel McHale as Tad O’Malley, Robbie Amell as Agent Miller, Lauren Ambrose as Agent Einstein, Julian Christopher as Dr. Oscar Griffiths and Aliza Vellani as Nurse Sandeep.

Synopsis:
The investigations that Mulder and Scully previously began with conspiracy theorist and web-TV show host Tad O’Malley (guest star Joel McHale) seem to have awakened powerful enemies. A widespread panic begins as people all over the country suddenly start falling gravely ill, and Scully must look within to try and find a cure. Meanwhile, Mulder confronts the man whom he believes to be behind it all, but another figure from Mulder and Scully’s past may prove to be the key to their salvation

X-Files: Lauren Ambrose's Agent Einstein is 'Scully on Steroids'

The penultimate X-Files episode, "Babylon," is putting its own spin on modern-day terrorism: when an art gallery is targeted by bombers, Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are recruited by a pair of younger agents, Miller (Robbie Amell) and Einstein (Lauren Ambrose).

“I think it’s timely; it’s a little ripped-from-the-headlines,” says creator Chris Carter, who wrote and directed the episode. “It introduces two new characters, Einstein and Miller, who look very much like a young Scully and Mulder. You’ll see a pairing of Scully with Miller, and Mulder with Einstein, which creates an interesting dynamic; Einstein is Scully on steroids, and Miller is old-school Mulder—he wants to believe.”

Radio Times: David Duchovny says he and Gillian Anderson "both went a little nuts" thanks to The X-Files

Monday, February 8

The actor discusses the sci-fi phenomenon that made his name, conspiracy theories and family life

Hard to believe, but it's been 14 years since David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson played bickering FBI special agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in the super-successful US sci-fi series, The X-Files. It was 2002, the year of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, and Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones had opened in cinemas. Friends still had a couple of years left – but it was curtains for The X-Files. After nine series and 202 episodes, the longest-running sci-fi show in US TV history was cancelled – and David Duchovny breathed a sigh of relief.

Towards the end, rumours emerged of on-set arguments between the two stars. The drama about unexplained phenomena was riven by unexplained personal difficulties. “We’d spent eight or nine years working together 12 to 14 hours a day,” Duchovny tells RT. “On top of that, we went from complete obscurity to worldwide stardom. Not just America. I think we both went somewhat crazy. It’s such a big change in someone’s life and such a strain on one’s time to make a show like that, so we both went a little nuts. You’d have to, right?

Sunday Times: David Duchovny: Mulder and Scully bury the hatchet and start unearthing secrets again - Feb 2016

Sunday, February 7

Relations used to be cold, but the actor says he now has fun with his co-star Gillian Anderson. Though he has to admit he forgot about their baby

THERE are only two reasons to go to Hollywood Boulevard: to see the stars or to buy drugs. David Duchovny fans can now do both at once. His star on the Walk of Fame (the 2,572nd), which I watched being unveiled two weeks ago, sits in the midst of the dope dealers and a few feet from the Smoke House, a shop specialising in hookah pipes, vaping kit and anything you might need to satiate the munchies.

I realise how fitting this is when I meet Duchovny in a Los Angeles hotel a little later on. I find a man so monosyllabic and monotone that he appears either to have been smoking heavily or to be on the brink of falling asleep. In fact he is just tired.

New York Times: ‘The X-Files’: David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson Return to the Paranormal Beat - 2016

Saturday, February 6

UPDATED with more pictures below

NORTH VANCOUVER, British Columbia — There they were in the midst of what looked like a spooky old-growth forest (Princess Park, actually, mere blocks from upscale suburban homes here), surrounded by clumps of moss, overgrown ferns and gigantic Douglas firs, looking for clues of yet another allegedly paranormal crime, the kind they used to solve almost every week. They addressed each other, as they always had, by only their last names.

“Mulder,” said Gillian Anderson, reprising her role as the F.B.I. agent Dana Scully, the look on her face instantly recognizable; part reprimand, part in-spite-of-herself affection.

“Scully,” David Duchovny responded in character, somehow managing to mock her just by saying her name.

The Guardian: David Duchovny: ‘I can't play Mulder the way I did. That would be obscene’ Feb 5, 2016

As The X-Files returns, David Duchovny talks about feeling vulnerable, those Gillian Anderson rumours – and why he and his co-star should be paid the same

A small crowd has gathered in front of the Fox theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. Carrying rolled-up copies of Variety magazine and holding up mobile phone cameras, they press their flesh as close to the metal barricade as possible. They are here to see David Duchovny, most famous for the newly resurrected science-fiction drama The X-Files, whose star is being unveiled on the Walk of Fame today. Duchovny’s closest confidantes are here, too – X-Files creator Chris Carter, Californication co-star Pamela Adlon, his manager Melanie Green, his brother – but they’re outnumbered by the strangers, the autograph seekers, and the tourists who will stop anywhere they see a fence and some security guards in LA.

Californication: Hank Moody - Jeans

DRESS LIKE HANK MOODY
-------
----------

HANK MOODY'S BLUE JEANS

Hank wears some dark denim straight cut jeans. They are very dark blue with a boot cut to allow a comfortable fit on the plane and to be worn with boots. We have not seen Moody wearing a belt, so if you have this information let us know!

The brand Hank usually wears and it is used in Californication is Earnest Sewn. There are many models of course, but the one used in the show is Earnest Sewn Men's Fulton Classic Straight Leg Jeans. Althought, sometimes he also wears Levi's Jeans. Levi's Men's 501 Original Fit Jean, Dark Stonewash. To match colors choose galindo.

Levis Men Fit Jean. Look for "galindo" color in this model if you want one like Hank Moody.

Behind the Scenes: Variety Photoshoot with David and Gillian (2016)

Here is a behind the scenes story of the photoshoot David and Gillian did for Variety promoting The X-Files Revival

JASON MADARA GETS PERSONAL WITH THE STARS OF THE X-FILES

The X-Files changed television. It was the first show to combine two different forms of TV storytelling: serial dramas and episodic procedurals. What was once a risk is now the most effective way to tell a story through the medium of long form drama. X-Files mythology carried the show through nine seasons of television and two feature films, as we followed FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) in their investigations of the paranormal and supernatural. The relationship between Mulder and Scully is what made the show as compelling as it was (until Duchovny’s early departure): Mulder’s passionate faith in the supernatural inspired his tireless and dangerous work, while Doctor Scully was there to root him in reality. The almost Taoist relationship between them was on display when Jason Madara photographed the duo in celebration of the X-Files’ return to television this month.
