Watch Blastr: The X-Files cast reveal the truth about the new season

It's been eight years since writer Chris Carter last assembled actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to don their FBI suits and search for the truth as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in The X-Files film, I Want to Believe. But against all odds, Carter convinced the actors to return to their iconic roles for six episodes of a series which premieres on Fox on January 24 at 10 PM Eastern/7 PM Pacific.

The entire "The X-Files" creative team were in great spirits on Tuesday night in Los Angeles at the California Science Center, where they celebrated the U.S. debut of the premiere episode, "My Struggle." Blastr was on the red carpet and got to get these exclusive video interviews with Chris Carter and actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, talking about returning to the characters and mythology after such a long break.

We also spoke to several other cast members, old and new, and we got them to share some secrets about what fans can expect from these new episodes.

Actor William B. Davis, aka Cigarette Smoking Man, on his belief in the show returning:

"I had no chats with Chris whatsoever. The fans all seemed to know more than I did. The rumors were that David and Gillian were getting along personally and that they wanted to work on the piece again, so then it all became more possible.

Actor Mitch Pileggi on Skinner's return:

"I think being an agent is a part of Skinner's makeup. He's a company man but he's at odds with a lot of the higher ups in the FBI. He's a renegade with his behavior. He's been a believer since the end of the series. He even related an out-of-body experience he had in Vietnam. With Mulder, he sees even more. I think he absolutely on board which is why things happen the way they do in this series."

Actor Robbie Amell on his new character, Agent Miller:

"I am a believer. It's his main similarity with Mulder. I think I'm not quite as weird as Mulder. There's also fun relationship between Agent Einstein (Lauren Ambrose) and I, and between Mulder and Scully. We have the same dynamic going on there."
