Watertown guitarist tours with X-Files actor-turned-musician David Duchovny
As a longtime musician, McCusker said Duchovny is quick learner and a great band leader.

"It's a blast working with David," he said. "He's very comfortable with the band working together as a creative unit, especially since he's relatively new to the music game. It really doesn't feel like you're working with a star at all with David. He's very real."

More X-Files? "Probably not" says Gillian Anderson - November 2016

Feted for playing an FBI agent in "The X-Files" tackling the supernatural, actress Gillian Anderson has cast herself in the real-life role of an anti-slavery campaigner after being shocked at the scale of the problem.

Anderson said she had been unaware up to 46 million people globally were living as slaves, generating an estimated US$150 billion in illegal profits a year, until she became involved in the film "Sold". "The film is an entry point to the issue. By telling one girl's story it gives voice to the millions of children who are trafficked every year."Anderson, who lives in London, said she hoped "Sold", set for a digital release early next year after limited theatrical screenings since 2014, would help raise awareness of the issue.

TV Wise: Fox Could Order 10 Episodes for X-Files Season 11

EXCLUSIVE: After months of rumours, an eleventh season of The X-Files is within sight. I’m hearing from my sources that Fox execs are targeting a “more traditional” episode order for the new season and that the official green-light is expected from the network “within weeks”.

Sources are reluctant to say much of anything either on the record or on background, but I’m hearing that after hoping to convince Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to sign on for a thirteen episode eleventh season, Fox senior executives, led by Dana Walden, have settled on an order in the range of 8-10 episodes. (UPDATE: Additional sources are now saying the order will be for ten episodes)

Observer: Pamela Adlon on Discovering Wooden Dildos With David Duchovny - September 2016

FX is on a bit of a great comedy streak lately. First, Donald Glover’s Atlanta managed to be effortlessly hilarious while still illuminating a part of black culture practically nonexistent on TV before. Better Things, debuting tonight, takes a different but no less distinctive path — it’s a simple, grounded comedy that just so happens to be virtually devoid of white men.

Creator Pamela Adlon–best known for seven seasons of Californication, frequent collaborations both on-screen and off with Louis CK or as the unmistakeable voice of Bobby Hill–stars as Sam, an actress living in L.A. juggling landing gigs and raising three young daughters. It’s a warmer Louie, minus the schlubby sad-man aesthetic, a comedy that mines a great deal from life’s small moments: A daughter asking for a weed, the humdrum of L.A. auditions, the struggle of finding suitable porn past a certain age. We met up with Adlon recently at the TCA Press Tour in Beverly Hills to discuss finding these small moments, the allure of Los Angeles, and surfing the middle-age porn scene with Californication co-star David Duchovny.

Asked if he considers himself a fashion guy, the 55-year-old actor said, “I’m so fashion stunted in many ways. I still wear T-shirts from when I was 15. I certainly like it, I’m growing in that area.”

Californication, electric cars and the leap into music

THE TRUTH is out there — and it’s electric, according to David Duchovny. The 55-year-old actor insists we will soon stop burning petrochemicals and run battery-powered cars instead. The world will be a cleaner and healthier place, he says. It’s certainly a contrast to the dark vision of the future portrayed in The X-Files, the television series that made him famous.

Duchovny’s preferred mode of transport is a Ford C-Max hybrid, which he drives partly because it does not attract attention but mainly because in it he can cruise around his home town of New York on battery power alone.

Forward: Enter David Duchovny’s (Half) Jewish New York, Through His New Novel - April 2016

For both David Duchovny and the protagonist of his latest novel, “Bucky F*cking Dent” (Farrar, Straus and Giroux) literary talent runs in the family. The “X-Files” actor and late-blooming musician is the descendant of several generations New York writers. The son of a Jewish father and a Scottish mother, he grew up in the East Village.

When I sat down with him at Barnes & Noble before a reading he gave last week, I asked, “What’s the most Jewish thing about you?”

“My sense of humor,” he said, without missing a beat.

Mr. Duchovny’s on-screen comic chops are well-known, from his early appearances on the late Garry Shandling’s “Larry Sander’s Show” to his starring roll in “Californication.” But his incisive wit really shines on the page, where he paints scenes so hilarious they might make you spit out your coffee.

David Duchovny can't wait to come to Scotland to celebrate his Aberdonian mother - April 28, 2016

THE X FILES star says it was his Scottish mother who set him on the road to success on screen, in music and as a novelist.

HE IS one of the world’s most sought-after TV actors – and David Duchovny credits his Scottish work ethic for his success.
